At the heart of everything we do is a deep belief that love is for everyone — and that everyone deserves to feel seen, safe, and celebrated – including the earth we all share.

THE PAST AND FUTURE OF WEDDINGS

We recognize that weddings and the
wedding industry has not always been a welcoming or empowering space for everyone. We also believe that weddings – a celebration of a couple’s future together – can carry a heavy environmental impact, and we are actively seeking to collaborate on redefining production approaches to reflect a more equitable, ethical, accessible and inclusive paradigm.

INCLUSIVITY

We’re committed to creating, and continuing to learn how to hold an inclusive and welcoming space and experience for clients of all races, genders, sexual orientations, religions, abilities, and backgrounds, especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community and others whose love stories have historically been excluded from legal weddings – and continue to be overlooked or underrepresented in the wedding industry.

We work intentionally to hold space for love through posing couples in ways that feel aligned with their chemistry, developing formal photo lists that encourage groupings of chosen family members, including fur babies, and appreciation and respect for the unique ways people come together to choose to define and celebrate their milestones.

My own parents were some of the early adopters of the West Coast non-traditional micro wedding movement (circa 1980’s), which is why elopements and unique weddings have a special place at the heart of the studio.

And for that reason, we remain feeling and vision-oriented, use inclusive language, partner and intentionally refer clients to vetted, ethos-aligned vendors, and ensure our booking process and photography experience offer sensitivity and care for our clients.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Behind the lens, we also strive to be thoughtful stewards of the land we work and live on. We recognize, as settlers on the unceded lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples and Coast Salish People, that we must be more accountable stewards of the land and earth we all share.

ENVIRONMENTAL CARE

The studio pursues this through refurbishing and servicing gear to reduce unnecessary e-waste, always reaching for rechargeable batteries and large volume hard drives, and sourcing other materials for photoshoots with a local / re-used / rental and diversity-first approach to reduce production waste and other impacts.

From low-impact leave-no-trace elopements in nature to intentional print and product orders from ethos-aligned producers, we’re constantly learning and evolving how we tread and operate on the planet.

Sustainability matters to us—not just in how we create but in how we support and empower couples in planning intentional celebrations that reflect their values.

ACCOUNTIBILITY + AUTHENTICITY

We’re not perfect – we’re humans learning and unlearning as we go – our studio isn’t about fitting folks into binaries.

Here you’re allowed to love dancing and flowers and yoga classes and your cat as much as a day at the gun range – and being authentic in what and how you love, is what we find beautiful.

Our team is committed to listening and learning and exploring how you need to show up and be seen.

We promise to keep showing up—to honour and serve love in all its forms, and to do so with as much integrity, care, and creativity as we can.
