Let’s explore this Playful SPRING Wedding at a waterfront hotel in Victoria
V and M reached out to me 14 months before their wedding date, seeking coverage for a “romantic, airy, blissful wedding” – and I was excited to meet them, since so many of my inquiries were seeking a moodier direction at the time. We included a second photographer and an engagement session – we chatted about cherry blossoms being a big inspiration for their April date, and these beautiful, rosy tones found their way into the heart of the day.

SPRING WEDDING: A ROSEY ROMANCE
The day began with a moment for the gold-toned details and getting ready with family and friends. Spending time with family after the ceremony, and including a tea ceremony and traditional outfit change, was an important feature of the timeline, so we planned a first look at the Parliament Buildings with ripe cherryblossoms and heritage buildings as a backdrop.
The gallery overall had moments of wonderful range, from the airy and delicate floral photos to the depth and mood of harsh light during a dramatic black and white edit.
A colourful CULTURAL WEDDING CELEBRATION
The mid-afternoon ceremony was sunny and crisp outside on the terrace. The smaller wedding party size fit beautifully on the pond’s ceremony platform. After the ceremony, we dove into family photos with the Laurel Point Inn as a stunning backdrop for a colourful friend-filled reception full of lawn games, cocktails and refreshments.

If you’re planning a large wedding party, keep in mind that the pond platform is limited in size.

A VIBRANT RECEPTION
Decorate Victoria covered so much ground – from the vintage-inspired florals, the ceremony and head table installation, to the colourful custom signage, pipe and drape and welcome signs. The clean and charming details captured the season beautifully.
Since this timeline format allowed V + M to enjoy a tea ceremony with their elders and close relatives, and a game and photo booth-filled cocktail hour with their guests, we decided to circle back to capturing a few more photos during golden hour before the cake cut and dance party kicked off.

Beyond the primary event space, there’s also the Rogers Suite Balcony, which can be transformed into a micro wedding space. They do allow for a mix of live music and DJs on the property until noted quiet hours, which conclude between 11 pm and 1 am, depending on the date and location.

The venue caters to those looking at Victoria for a destination wedding and is hosting a number of out-of-town guests. The Laurel Point events team includes an on-site events team and planners to support details, set-up, logistics, and venue coordination, who will be present on your wedding day as a dedicated point person.

Their wedding accommodation packages are crafted with ease in mind – including two nights’ accommodation for the couple, menu tastings, custom wedding cakes, dinner options, and breakfast in bed. In terms of food, they offer a selection of chef-curated, in-house culinary and cake-making services as well as menu tasting opportunities. At this time, do not allow for off-site food or cakes to be brought on-site for events.
